Back - To - School My morning routine before school!

Hey guys!

OMG SCHOOL STARTS TOMORROW!!!!  The holidays have gone by so quickly, its as if we just got off school yesterday!  This post will hopefully help you when you wake up in the morning and don't have a lot of time to get ready!  In the mornings you need to manage your time very well because you only have an hour or so to get ready!  Well for me at least.

1. Wake up!!
I usually wake up at around 5:15 - 5:30am because I live about an hour from my school and I want to give myself as much time as possible to get ready!

2. Have breakfast!
I hope I'm not the only one, but I absolutely HATE breakfast.  I don't know what it is about it but I just don't like it at all, especially cereal, yuck!  I usually have a vegemite bagel and a hot chocolate or tea in the morning.  If I'm in a really big rush, then I will probably grab a yogurt, apple or muesli bar.  Just remember, breakfast is your fuel until recess!  Make sure that you eat enough to get you through those first two periods!

3. Shower!
It is super important to shower at least once a day!  Especially as your getting older, you want to smell and look clean let alone feel clean.  I usually have a shower in the morning but if I'm really hard-pressed for time then I will have one at night!  I rather having one in the morning though because then you feel clean throughout the whole day!  It is also important to wash your hair so you get rid of all that grease and yucky stuff that build up!  I like to wash my hair every other day!

4. Make-up!
For school, you don't want to load up on the make-up, you want a light, natural look!  My make-up routine goes like this: wash my face, dot on pimple cream, moisturise, BB Cream instead of foundation (its lighter and more natural!), blush, eyeshadow (only if I have time in the mornings!), mascara, curling my lashes, lip moisturiser, colour my lips!

5. Hair!
For school, I usually put my hair up so it's out of my way.  Since I go to a performing arts school and I dance everyday and are required to wear a bun, I will usually wear a bun to school and then take it out after PA.  But if I didn't have dance I would either do a messy bun, half up-half down, loose ponytail, etc.

6. Get dressed!
For those lucky ducks who get to wear mufti everyday...why?!  Hehe, anyway.  Most Australian students will have to wear a uniform, so after your make-up and hair is done, get changed into your uniform!  It is very important that you look smart and very sharp in your uniform, because if you look daggy or scrubby, you are bound to get in trouble from your teacher or even principle.

7. Make sure everything is packed!
I always pack my bags the night before so it's one less thing I have to worry about in the morning, and let me say, it really helps!  Once everything else in the morning is done, I always check my bags and make sure I have everything required for the day!  You don't want to turn up to a class and not have the correct uniform or text books, that will usually result in a detention if you do it enough times!

8. Time for school!
Put on your coat, check yourself in the mirror, grab your bags and head to school!

By following these simple steps, you will most likely be ready much quicker in the morning if you were rushing around, trying to figure out what you needed to do!  Another great tip is write a list down every night and stick it somewhere you will see it and just list everything that you need to do in the morning and you can even be specific like what you are going to have for breakfast!  This really helps me and it just makes it so much easier in the mornings!

You don't have to just write lists for in the morning, I always write lists for everything!  Like on the weekends, I will write a list of everything I need to do for the day or on a school day, I will write down what I need to do after school or anything I need to do whilst in school!  It manages your time a lot better and it also keeps you very organised and punctual!

SOphia xx
